Arthur YUEN
Composer Fellow
Arthur YUEN is a composer and doctoral candidate in Composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (supervisors: Julian Anderson, Malcolm Singer, Raymond Yiu). His research-led practice, An Exploration of Chinese Cultural Symbols in a Composer’s Practice, investigates identity, symbolism and cross-cultural encounter in contemporary music. His works have been performed internationally by ensembles including the BBC Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia, PHACE and the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble. He has given talks and lecture-recitals at institutions such as the University of Manchester and the University of Hong Kong. Yuen’s awards include the Mendelssohn Scholarship for Composers (2025), MAP-IMC 2023 (3rd Prize) and a top diploma at New Melodies II; his doctoral studies are supported by a Postgraduate Research Fee Bursary. He is a board member of the Asian Young Musicians Alliance (AYMA) and is active as a composition teacher and guitarist.
Yuval MEDINA

Yuval MEDINA (b. 1998) is a New York-based composer and pianist whose recent projects explore the intersection of music with dance, film, and multimedia performance. At the core of his work is a commitment to the human dimension of music and its power to bridge divides. A finalist (Top 3 Nationwide) in the American Pops Orchestra’s Ruth Wales du Pont Composition Competition, he has also received the Tribeca New Music Merit Award and an Honorable Mention from the New York Youth Symphony. He is currently earning his M.M. in Composition at the Manhattan School of Music.
Harry GONZÁLEZ

Harry GONZÁLEZ is a Colombian composer and multi-instrumentalist interested in merging contradictory ideas, exploring with multimedia and creating decision-based music. His music has been commissioned by The Sheldon Arts Foundation, the Mizzou New Music Initiative, the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra, and Periscopio (Universidad EAFIT). It has been performed at the 10th Connecticut Summerfest, the 8th and 9th New Music on the Bayou, at the Mizzou New Music Ensemble South America Tour (Colombia), Del Mar International Composer Symposium, the 2023 Missouri Composers Project XIV, the Odyssey Chamber Music Series, Cartagena Music Festival, Concurso Nacional Violinissimo (Medellin), Colombia se Compone (Bogotá), and Contemporáneos III (Costa Rica). González has gained important experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Missouri, playing violin with the Colombian popular music singer Arelys Henao and professional orchestras such as the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, teaching piano lessons at Vivo Professional Music School, and editing music for the projects Historias del Piano Colombiano and Metodología Musical Lezlye Berrio. Currently, González is pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition at Rice University.
